Role Overview

The Senior AI Product Engineer will be instrumental in designing and building systems that enable AI to interpret, understand, and interact within physical spaces. This involves transforming built environments into intelligent, interactive settings for robots and humans alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to an AI-focused product team dedicated to establishing a living laboratory for physical AI applications.
• Architect comprehensive AI-driven technology stacks, utilizing AI-native development frameworks and workflows.
• Bridge client needs and visions with technical designs, introducing innovative solutions.
• Develop initial prototypes and proofs of concept to validate approaches.
• Collaborate closely with users and clients throughout the product lifecycle.
• Engineer systems that convert sensor, vision, and IoT data into dynamic, detailed spatial insights such as occupancy, asset locations, environmental states, and spatial relationships among people, rooms, and equipment.
• Develop and integrate physical AI and robotics components including perception (vision and sensor fusion), planning, and robotic control for autonomous agents in real workplace settings, leveraging existing robotics frameworks like ROS/ROS2 rather than building new ones from the ground up.

Ownership and Deliverables

• Lead and maintain an active, fast-paced physical AI living lab environment.
• Manage prototype development and roadmap planning, spanning short-term sprints to long-term strategic initiatives (6 weeks to 24 months).
• Create demos and proofs of concept to showcase, evaluate, and gather user feedback for iterative improvements.
• Develop points of view and strategies for adapting physical AI technologies throughout the living lab ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Innate orientation towards AI with a focus on models, agents, and learned systems as core design components.
• Proven track record in designing AI-driven systems and architectures.
• Experience in physical or spatial AI domains such as perception, SLAM/mapping, sensor fusion, autonomous robot planning and control, or spatial computing techniques like Gaussian splatting.
• Skill in constructing evaluation frameworks and testing environments for AI technologies.
• Solid engineering background with programming proficiency in Python, C++, or similar languages, alongside API development and data pipeline management; familiarity with robotics toolkits (e.g., ROS and ROS2) is essential.
• Ability to function autonomously within a small, agile team.
• Embraces a product-driven mindset emphasizing user-centric solutions.
• Collaborative team player with a strong sense of adventure and curiosity.
