AI Central (AIC) represents NCS's core enterprise AI capability, focused on developing, commercializing, and deploying AI platforms and reusable assets tailored for regulated and mission-critical sectors such as aviation, transportation, public safety, telecommunications, and government.

Role Overview

As an AI Security Specialist at AI Central, you will focus on building, productizing, and implementing secure AI-driven products, MVPs, and protective mechanisms within regulated sectors. Working closely with clients, you will convert business and security challenges into threat-resilient solutions that undergo testing and can be adopted and scaled throughout Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate client security requirements and business problems into functional prototypes, MVPs, and deployable AI solutions.
• Develop, test, and release AI-powered solutions featuring defensive guardrails and runtime security controls utilizing software engineering, model orchestration, and contemporary cybersecurity technologies.
• Implement safeguards against vulnerabilities including prompt injection, data leakage, and evasion, leveraging modern AI tools.
• Conduct rapid experimentation to verify feasibility, business impact, and security robustness.
• Anticipate and address vulnerabilities in generative AI and automated systems using expert cybersecurity judgment.
• Apply hands-on experience managing live environments to solve practical cybersecurity challenges pragmatically.
• Balance quick prototyping with strong engineering discipline to create usable security measures that protect workloads without hindering delivery.
• Collaborate with client teams to shape secure AI-enabled products and embed security by design principles within organizations.
• Provide guidance to technology and business leaders on AI security priorities, architectural decisions, and threat mitigation strategies.
• Develop and sustain reusable security patterns, playbooks, and guardrail configurations documented for regional deployments.
• Support technical onboarding and capability-building efforts by sharing evolving AI security practices across AI Central.

Candidate Profile

Combining product intuition, engineering expertise, cybersecurity proficiency, and sound judgment, you work effectively with senior stakeholders, offering constructive challenges where necessary. You fluently utilize AI to enhance design, coding, research, and delivery processes. You prioritize shipping secure solutions that address significant problems while understanding when quality, trust, security, and maintainability are critical. Possessing instincts for defending systems alongside a strong appreciation of risk is essential.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline—or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience working in active cybersecurity environments exposed to real-time threats.
• Knowledge of contemporary AI tooling, large language model (LLM) patterns, orchestration, and implementation of effective security guardrails.
• Strong defensive instincts coupled with an understanding of associated risks.
• Capability to navigate uncertainty and make balanced decisions involving speed, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Effective communication skills to discuss security priorities with stakeholders confidently.
• Awareness of AI-specific security risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, evasion tactics, model poisoning, and adversarial attacks.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks including NIST AI RMF, IMDA Model AI Governance, and AI Verify.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Practical experience deploying AI solutions in enterprise or regulated sectors like aviation, transport, public safety, telecommunications, or government.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), analytics, and observability tools.
• Exposure to red-teaming AI models, prompt defense techniques, or machine learning–based detection methodologies.
• Background in consulting, venture building, or working within fast-paced innovation teams.
