Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the self-checkout area tidy, safe, and well-organized, removing clutter, spills, and any foreign objects promptly.
• Promote Walmart's credit card offerings, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns when appropriate.
• Guide and support customers using self-checkouts, monitoring transactions, and assisting with any issues; escalate cash or technical difficulties to management politely and clearly.
• React to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms as per policy and maintain detailed records of "Failure to Deactivate" incidents.
• Ensure that Scan & Go devices are returned to their proper storage after use.
• Maintain flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a busy workload during overnight and other shifts, planning to stay focused and efficient.
• Handle physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, lifting inventory and equipment up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive stocking and organizing duties while paying close attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.
