Job description
Position Overview
The Security Officer will oversee the safety and security across the property by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding promptly to incidents. Key duties include assisting guests with room access, monitoring CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress and fire life safety systems, conducting physical hazard inspections, and managing emergency responses including first aid and contacting EMS as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patrols of all property areas and secure entrances when necessary.
- Monitor closed circuit televisions and alarm systems to ensure property safety.
- Respond immediately to accidents, disturbances, or emergencies, providing first aid/CPR and notifying emergency services or relevant personnel.
- Manage and deescalate guest or employee disturbances, escort unauthorized individuals off the premises without disrupting operations.
- Document all security and loss prevention incidents through detailed reporting including shift summaries and activity logs.
- Investigate incidents, gather evidence, conduct interviews, and maintain confidentiality of all security-related information and reports.
- Maintain clean, professional appearance adhering to company uniform standards and support team goals by fostering positive workplace relationships.
- Operate safely on all terrains; move, carry, and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
- Perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, navigating confined spaces, stairs, and uneven surfaces; engage in bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping motions as required.
- Support and comply with company policies including safety protocols, accident reporting, and confidentiality agreements.
- Assist guests proactively, including those with disabilities, and communicate clearly in both spoken and written forms.
- Carry out additional job duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No prior work experience or supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications mandated, though some states may impose additional requirements.
