Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Security Officer based in Bridgwater to deliver a professional security service aligned with client expectations. The role involves safeguarding employees, property, and assets while providing exceptional customer service. The position includes managing gatehouse duties such as confirming deliveries and registering visitors and staff. Flexible shifts covering days, nights, and weekends are required, and candidates must possess a current SIA licence prior to starting operational shifts.
Key Duties
- Greet and assist staff, guests, contractors, and delivery personnel.
- Carry out regular security patrols and control site access to protect people and property.
- Handle gatehouse responsibilities including visitor bookings and access control protocols.
- Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and other security equipment while responding to incidents as needed.
- Support health and safety processes, coordinate emergency evacuations, and conduct site searches.
- Proactively prevent crime, losses, damage, and disturbances through vigilant observation.
- Maintain precise records including incident reports and shift handover documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to site regulations, security policies, and client requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Must hold a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in gatehouse operations managing visitor and delivery access is preferred.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
- Legal eligibility to work in the UK with at least five years of verifiable employment history.
- Professionalism, dependability, and a customer-centric attitude.
