Position Summary

The Seafood Specialist oversees the seafood department’s quality and operational excellence by ensuring freshness, presentation, and compliance with food safety standards. This individual drives product accuracy, inventory management, and supports promotional readiness while fostering exceptional guest engagement and teamwork across the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain seafood product freshness and quality, including accurate rotation and labeling.
• Implement merchandising plans, ensuring proper product placement and signage.
• Collaborate with leadership for seafood ordering and restocking.
• Check deliveries for accuracy and freshness; manage receiving and storage correctly.
• Support adherence to compliance during product transitions and promotional events.
• Assist front-end operations during busy periods, including cashier duties.
• Engage shoppers with welcoming and helpful service on the sales floor.

Working Schedule

This role requires availability for flexible scheduling including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality environments.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Preferred Background

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in retail, culinary, or grocery industries.
• Familiarity with electronic shelf labeling, inventory systems, or AI-based retail tools is an advantage.

Physical and Operational Conditions

• Tasks require repetitive hand/arm movements, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds independently, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Use of equipment such as knives, ladders, step stools, box cutters, and pallet jacks is required.
• Prolonged standing or walking for up to 4 hours or as per legal standards.
• Wearing approved headgear (hat, hair net, beard guard) and personal protective equipment is mandatory.
