Role Overview
The Scrum Master leads the facilitation of Scrum events, customizing ceremonies to suit team and organizational needs effectively. This position supports teams in improving their collaboration, managing workflows efficiently, and committing to achievable goals that lead to dependable product delivery. The Scrum Master works closely with Product Owners, guiding product vision and strategy, mentoring them for strong product ownership, and resolving any counterproductive behaviors potentially affecting the team or product success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and adjust Scrum ceremonies to fit team and organizational requirements.
- Coach cross-functional teams towards self-organization and high performance.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to clarify product goals and strategy.
- Mentor Product Owners in decision-making and product ownership skills.
- Resolve conflicts and impediments to maintain effective workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in collaborating with Product Owners and stakeholders for alignment.
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams within global environments.
- Self-driven, adaptable, detail-oriented, analytical, and customer-centric approach.
- At least 5 years of experience in Technology Product or Service Delivery roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Preferred Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- Advanced expertise in complementary Agile frameworks like Kanban or Lean Startup.
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) and traditional project management methodologies (PRINCE2 or PMP).
