Role Overview

This position bridges Data Strategy, Governance, and Analytics to help clients advance their data-driven objectives. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing data governance frameworks that ensure the flow of reliable, quality data throughout client organizations. This role demands a hands-on, client-facing expert capable of converting intricate data issues into actionable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders to establish data ownership structures, stewardship roles, and standardize metadata.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis, profiling, and quality assessments to detect challenges and areas for enhancement.
  • Contribute to the design of data catalogs, lineage documentation, and business glossaries.
  • Assist with deploying data governance tools and platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, and Alation.
  • Lead governance efforts within broader data transformation projects, including modernisation and migration initiatives.
  • Communicate insights and governance outcomes effectively to senior leadership using compelling storytelling, visualisations, and executive presentations.
  • Provide mentorship to junior analysts and actively contribute to Slalom's thought leadership on data strategy and governance.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven expertise in data governance or data management within a professional services context.
  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks like DAMA and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience crafting and executing data governance strategies and policies.
  • Knowledge of governance tools and metadata management platforms such as Alation, Informatica, and Collibra.
  • Skilled in creating educational materials, presentations, and training content to promote data governance awareness.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a keen interest in navigating complex data landscapes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities, able to influence both business and technical audiences.
  • Adaptable leader, comfortable in multidisciplinary teams and dynamic work environments.
