Role Overview

This position focuses on advancing data management practices throughout the organization by engaging in initiatives that enhance data quality, oversee metadata, maintain the data catalog, and ensure adherence to data governance standards. The role plays a vital part in safeguarding data accuracy, improving availability and discoverability, and supporting business users with trustworthy and compliant data assets aligned with corporate data privacy and governance mandates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor data quality standards and controls, conducting assessments to detect inconsistencies and integrity issues.
  • Track and resolve data quality issues around organizational data assets, consistently monitoring data quality indicators and driving ongoing improvements.
  • Manage and update the enterprise data catalog to enhance data findability, ensuring thorough documentation of technical and business metadata and facilitating classification within approved frameworks.
  • Support the preservation and governance of metadata across systems, enforcing standards and addressing documentation gaps collaboratively.
  • Aid in implementing and monitoring compliance with data governance policies, collaborating with relevant parties to address audit findings and improve practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation including definitions, lineage, glossaries, and asset inventories adhering to enterprise standards.
  • Analyze datasets to discover trends and issues affecting data management goals, validating data completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Work alongside business and IT teams to foster application of data management standards, raising awareness and encouraging adoption of governance protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to refine data management processes, tools, and governance maturity, contributing to a data-centric culture.
  • Adhere to all department policies and procedures, ensuring consistency, safety, and quality in work practices.
  • Maintain strict compliance with information security requirements to protect data confidentiality and integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Statistics, or closely related fields.
  • Four to six years of professional experience in areas such as Data Analytics, Data Quality, Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management.
