About the Role
Join ALS's dynamic Geochemistry team in Kalgoorlie, where you will play a crucial role in processing mineral samples for laboratory analysis. This full-time position requires operating machinery such as crushers, splitters, and pulverizers in a physically demanding, fast-paced warehouse environment serving mining and exploration clients.
Daily Responsibilities
- Handling geological materials including rock, core, and drill chips.
- Operating sample preparation equipment like crushers, pulverizers, splitters, and weighing scales.
- Performing manual tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Sorting and labeling samples with accuracy.
- Adhering to safety protocols, including mandatory half-face respirator use in dusty conditions.
- Collaborating with teammates to meet production targets.
Work Schedule and Environment
This onsite role offers various shift patterns: Monday to Friday day shifts (8 am - 4 pm), Monday to Friday night shifts (6 pm - 4 am), and an 8-day shift followed by 4 days off schedule with 10-hour shifts. The workplace involves exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes, necessitating strict use of personal protective equipment and maintaining a clean-shaven face to ensure respirator effectiveness.
