Position Overview
As a Sales Development Representative at OpenTable, you will play a pivotal role within the sales team, generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth. Your primary responsibility will be to connect with prospective restaurant clients, educate them about OpenTable's reservation and guest management solutions, and secure meetings for Account Executives. Effectively communicating the advantages of our offerings and building strong customer relationships will be critical to your success.
Responsibilities
- Initiate outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and social media to attract potential restaurant clients.
- Educate prospects on OpenTable’s product offerings, emphasizing their benefits to restaurant operations and customer satisfaction.
- Qualify leads by evaluating needs, budgets, and suitability to ensure only appropriate prospects advance to Account Executives.
- Develop and maintain trusting relationships with restaurant owners, managers, and key decision-makers.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives to strategize outreach efforts and share relevant insights.
- Manage prospect data and sales activities using CRM tools like Salesforce to maintain accurate records.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market conditions to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Participate in sales meetings, trainings, and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in sales development, business development, or related roles, ideally within hospitality, technology, or SaaS sectors.
- Demonstrated history of successfully generating leads, qualifying prospects, and achieving or surpassing sales goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the aptitude to establish rapport, actively listen, and positively influence potential clients.
- Competency in delivering persuasive sales pitches and employing basic selling techniques effectively.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills tailored to specific restaurant challenges and requirements.
- Self-driven and goal-oriented with a proactive mindset toward lead sourcing and managing the sales pipeline.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment alongside Account Executives and other colleagues.
- Experience using CRM software such as Salesforce and sales-enhancing tools like Groove.
- Knowledge of the restaurant industry and familiarity with OpenTable platforms is advantageous.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related fields is preferred.
