Job description
About the Role
Starting from October 15, 2026, you will have the opportunity to actively engage with potential customers, focusing not just on scheduling appointments but truly understanding how craft businesses operate daily. You'll explore their challenges and demonstrate how modern software, automation, and AI solutions from HERO can effectively ease their workload. HERO is a SaaS company committed to creating digital tools that simplify, enhance, and boost the efficiency and success of craft businesses both in the office and on the construction site.
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be the initial personal contact for prospective clients, helping them identify their challenges and discover fitting solutions while guiding them towards the next step with HERO.
Your workplace will be at one of HERO's appealing offices located in Berlin or Hannover. While remote work is possible, the company values consistent in-person collaboration. You can expect a modern and spacious office environment that supports focused work as well as spontaneous interaction, shared learning, and team spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively reach out to potential customers via phone, email, and social media, often serving as their first interaction with HERO.
- Engage with craft businesses, ask insightful questions to develop a genuine understanding of their operations, processes, and daily challenges.
- Identify the specific needs, difficulties, and interests of craft businesses.
- Establish initial trustworthy relationships with key decision-makers, maintaining a professional, approachable, and respectful demeanor.
- Qualify leads thoroughly, determining which businesses align well with HERO’s products and market.
- Schedule qualified initial meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives, playing a critical role in the sales cycle.
- Accurately maintain customer interaction records and relevant data in Salesforce to ensure transparent, efficient lead management.
- Analyze the craft market and collaborate with the team to develop smart, targeted outreach strategies that resonate with the audience.
- Leverage modern tools, automation, and AI-assisted workflows to prepare outreach efficiently, prioritize effectively, and continuously improve processes.
- Work regularly alongside colleagues at the Berlin or Hannover offices, contributing actively to an open and learning-focused team culture.
Candidate Profile
- Enjoy engaging in proactive outbound outreach, especially via telephone, combining determination, persistence, and positive energy.
- Possess a sincere interest in the craft market, understanding the challenges faced by the target group and how businesses operate, decide, and grow.
- Preferably have direct or indirect contact with the craft industry through personal experience, client interaction, or previous jobs; most importantly, be willing to deeply immerse yourself in the target market.
- Demonstrate strong customer orientation, delivering professional, approachable, and trustworthy first impressions.
- Exhibit clear communication and strong presentation skills, capable of inspiring others with structure, ease, and a good sense of humor.
- Work independently, manage your appointments reliably, and organize thorough preparation and follow-up for conversations.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in Salesforce to uphold transparency and quality during the sales initiation phase.
- Be receptive to new technologies, with enthusiasm for integrating AI tools and automation into daily work routines to boost efficiency and outcomes.
- Have excellent German language skills (minimum C1 level) and good English skills (at least B1 level).
- Enjoy teamwork and actively participate in regular exchanges with colleagues on-site in Berlin or Hannover.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours and location-independent mobile work supported by a 29 Euro subsidy for a Germany-wide public transport ticket.
- 30 vacation days including December 24 and 31, plus extra leave for special occasions such as weddings, moving, or childbirth.
- One volunteer day annually to engage in a social project important to you.
- Health and wellness offerings including job bike plans, fitness programs through Hansefit or EGYM Wellpass, and access to comprehensive mental health support via Bloom.
- Additional company health insurance coverage through Allianz and monthly professional shoulder and neck massages offered at the Hannover office.
- An annual education budget of 800 Euros for courses, books, or coaching to support your career growth.
- Regular feedback and development discussions aimed at helping you achieve your career objectives.
- A transparent career development plan within HERO to foster internal advancement.
- Engaging team spirit with outstanding summer and Christmas parties, regular team events, and annual co-working trips within the EU with the HERO team.
