Role Overview

The Revenue Assurance Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding One NZ’s revenue and profit margins by ensuring billing processes are accurate, complete, and timely across all products, services, and customer segments. This role involves analyzing discrepancies, identifying revenue leakages and billing errors, and collaborating closely with commercial, finance, operations, and technology teams to strengthen financial controls, enhance processes, and confidently support organizational change. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week onsite in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough, data-driven assurance checks throughout the entire revenue and billing process to detect missing, incorrect, or delayed charges.
  • Verify billing outcomes and underlying data against approved prices, product/service terms, discounts, offers, and contractual commitments.
  • Reconcile data from CRM, order management, provisioning, billing, and invoicing systems to uncover anomalies, quantify impacts, and promote prompt remedies.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, coordinate corrective or recovery actions, and suggest improvements to minimize recurring issues and control failures.
  • Evaluate the effects of new or revised products, pricing, campaigns, systems, and processes on revenue and billing, specifying assurance requirements accordingly.
  • Collaborate with commercial, finance, operations, technology teams, customers, and vendors, bridging the gap between business and technical insights.
  • Maintain detailed assurance documentation, risk evaluations, and reports to comply with governance and audit mandates.
  • Provide assurance expertise in projects and forums to protect revenue streams while supporting continuous enhancement and change management.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong analytical thinking and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable managing and interpreting large, complex datasets, with the skill to reconcile and clearly explain findings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is advantageous. Desirable skills include SQL and AI capabilities.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including knowledge of contracts, pricing, and billing implications.
  • Good grasp of billing and revenue procedures, controls, and comprehensive service lifecycles.
  • Skilled in assessing impacts and risks from business and technical changes, translating these into effective assurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills, adept at bridging business and technical perspectives.
  • Approximately one year of relevant experience in revenue or billing assurance within a complex environment is preferred.
  • Possession of a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

Benefits and Culture

  • Flexible work arrangements that support a balanced lifestyle, including options to work from home and flexible hours to accommodate personal and family commitments.
  • Fully covered Southern Cross health insurance for employees and their families.
  • Option to purchase additional lifestyle leave beyond standard annual vacation.
  • Discounts on One New Zealand’s products and services and more perks.
