Your Role

As a People Support Specialist, you will serve as a trusted initial contact within One New Zealand, delivering prompt, accurate, and customer-centric assistance across human resources, payroll, and people-related matters. Your responsibilities will include ensuring smooth People operations with precise HR administration, managing HR information systems and data, facilitating reporting, guaranteeing compliance, and supporting remuneration and benefits processes.

You will bring a sharp eye for detail combined with a continuous improvement mindset to identify smarter, more efficient practices that boost employee experience and enhance the People team's service quality. This position is ideal for someone passionate about aiding others, resolving challenges, and ensuring accuracy while expanding their expertise across diverse People and HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a frontline support resource by giving quick, precise, and helpful responses for HR, payroll, and travel inquiries, prioritizing first-time accuracy.
  • Support the complete execution of vital HR processes and operational activities to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Maintain and update HR data meticulously for reliability and integrity across all people information systems.
  • Assist in reporting, data uploads, and compliance checks by spotting issues and supporting their resolution.
  • Continuously seek process simplification and efficiency gains to facilitate easier access for employees to needed support.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across People and broader business units to deliver consistent customer-focused service and excellent employee experiences.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in HR or People administration, preferably in a fast-paced or shared services environment; familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand employment laws, HR policies, and people-related processes.
  • Payroll experience or a sound knowledge of New Zealand payroll systems and legislation is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional precision with employee data and systems management.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of delivering clear and supportive customer service.
  • A genuine dedication to placing employees’ needs at the forefront and enhancing their overall work experience.
