Position Overview

Farmfoods is seeking a dedicated Retail Supervisor for our Longbenton store in Newcastle upon Tyne (postcode NE12 8GA). This is a permanent full-time role with 39 working hours spread across 5 days per week, including shift flexibility with weekend work expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a vital role within the management team supporting the shop manager to lead and motivate the team in delivering excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
• Take charge of shop operations during the manager’s absence, overseeing customer care, timely processing of deliveries, and ensuring the shop remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, ordering stock, and team development activities for retail assistants.
• Monitor and control shop operational costs, including shrinkage, waste management, and payroll oversight.

Candidate Requirements

• Reliable and trustworthy with a commitment to excelling in the role and supporting a small team effectively.
• Preferably have some previous supervisory or managerial experience in retail or a related sector, though motivated candidates looking to begin their retail management journey are encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) as a mandatory condition of employment.
