Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Retail Assistant Manager to join our Northampton store, located at NN5 5LE. This is a permanent full-time role working 43 hours over five days weekly, with shifts spread over seven days including weekend coverage. Full availability, including weekends, is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the shop manager to maintain efficient store operations and deliver excellent customer service.
- Lead and develop retail assistants through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Manage the store in the shop managers absence, ensuring customer needs are met, deliveries handled promptly, and daily routines are completed to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
- Drive team motivation and oversee operational cost controls including prevention of shrinkage, minimizing waste, and managing payroll.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes for new staff members.
Required Qualifications and Traits

- Reliability and trustworthiness as a vital member of a close-knit team.
- Experience in leadership roles such as manager, team leader, or supervisor.
- Successful completion of a Basic DBS check (for England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (for Scotland) is mandatory prior to employment; employment is subject to satisfactory clearance.
