Role Overview
The Research Assistant will contribute to data-informed decisions by gathering, organizing, and analyzing information related to job postings, market dynamics, and recruitment results. The role's daily activities involve conducting systematic research on labor markets and industry developments, performing data entry and accuracy checks, and aiding the creation of reports, presentations, and internal dashboards. Close collaboration with colleagues to interpret data insights, detect recruitment patterns, and enhance platform functionality and user engagement is integral. The assistant will also support basic quality assurance of data sources and assist small-scale research projects from design to documentation. This is a full-time position requiring presence at the Harare office.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong research and analytical capabilities for gathering, integrating, and interpreting data from diverse sources.
- Competency in data analysis to handle datasets, recognize trends, and support recommendation formulation based on evidence.
- Effective communication skills for clearly presenting results and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience with laboratory procedures beneficial if supporting data or testing environments requiring structured protocols.
- Educational background including diploma or degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Data Science, or related disciplines is advantageous.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet software and basic tools for data visualization is preferred.
- Keen attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and capability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work setting are desired.
- Previous exposure to research, analytics, or recruitment-related work environments is a plus.
