Position Overview
The Regulatory Response Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting AP+ to uphold a strong compliance stance and efficiently manage significant regulatory matters, including the voluntary adoption of the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI).
This role involves overseeing all stages of regulatory response activities, from planning and gathering evidence to review, self-assessment, and final submission, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-governed responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full cycle of regulatory response efforts, encompassing planning, evidence collection, review, self-assessment, and coordination of submissions.
- Offer expert advice on risk and compliance related to regulatory duties, guiding stakeholders during the design and execution of initiatives aligned with regulatory commitments.
- Maintain comprehensive records, governance frameworks, and controls to support regulatory inquiries, responses, and commitments.
- Assist in the design, rollout, and integration of Group Risk activities related to regulatory responses.
- Collaborate closely with the Regulatory Response Program Manager to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with delivery.
- Analyze data, emerging issues, and trends to support consistent and defensible regulatory outcomes.
- Create and implement reporting tools to monitor regulatory response status, risks, challenges, and results for governance bodies.
- Build and nurture strong relationships across internal teams and relevant external partners.
- Apply quality assurance methods to enhance the uniformity, standards, and punctuality of regulatory responses.
- Spot and propose process enhancements to boost AP+'s regulatory response capabilities and preparedness.
- Coordinate the management of records concerning regulatory response documents, evidence, decisions, and authorized information requests.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry developments, and best practices to foster continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Experience supporting or managing regulatory response activities, compliance issues, or regulatory commitments, preferably within financial services, payments, or related regulated sectors.
- Proven experience coordinating evidence and stakeholders through complex regulatory or compliance processes.
- Strong ability in quality assurance, with experience in reviewing evidence and ensuring regulatory responses are precise, consistent, and timely.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance procedures, risk management, governance, and controls around responses.
- Capability to identify and assess risks, craft mitigation strategies, and communicate challenges clearly to stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills enabling synthesis of complex information into clear, defensible results.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to foster effective collaboration across multiple teams and seniority levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, especially in managing evidence, records, reporting, and governance.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, compliance, governance, or a related field; professional certifications or memberships are an added advantage.
