Job description

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and meticulous RAMS Lead to join our rail infrastructure team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This crucial leadership position involves overseeing the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) functions to ensure exceptional performance and compliance across rail projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of RAMS strategies and initiatives that align with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Carry out and supervise analyses such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and other reliability assessments to identify risks and devise mitigation actions.
  • Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of RAMS data to facilitate data-driven decisions for performance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards to monitor the reliability, availability, and safety levels of rail operations.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to establish maintenance plans, optimize spare parts inventory, and manage the lifecycle of assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with international rail safety standards and regulations such as ISO 26262 and EN 50126.
  • Guide cross-disciplinary teams providing technical leadership on RAMS-related matters, system designs, and improvements.
  • Design and implement RAMS training programs to bolster organizational expertise and awareness.
  • Prepare detailed RAMS documentation, technical reports, and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers to build an effective RAMS team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in RAMS, reliability engineering or related fields within rail or transportation sectors.
  • Proven leadership capabilities managing technical teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Advanced skills in RAMS methodologies including FMEA, FTA, and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD).
  • In-depth knowledge of rail systems, signaling, rolling stock, and infrastructure elements.
  • Expertise with international rail safety standards like ISO 26262, EN 50126, and EN 50129 or equivalents.
  • Proficient in using RAMS analysis and reliability software tools.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing complex datasets and developing actionable performance metrics.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with capability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, including technical report writing and presentation to senior leadership.
  • Experience with maintenance strategy formulation and asset lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, or continuous improvement approaches is a plus.
  • Possession of RAMS professional certifications or similar industry recognitions is preferred.
  • Understanding of Saudi Arabia's rail infrastructure projects and local regulatory standards is advantageous.
