Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and updating accurate cost estimates, budget forecasts, and cost plans throughout various phases of projects. They will assist in the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), pricing schedules, and tender documentation, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise cost estimates, budget plans, and financial forecasts for projects at all stages.
• Contribute to the development and assessment of Bills of Quantities and tender documents.
• Support contract administration tasks adhering to FIDIC and Ashghal contract frameworks.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and validate measurements and valuations provided by contractors.
• Prepare interim payment claims and assist in certifying payments to contractors.
• Monitor and manage project variations, changes, and related claims.
• Assist with evaluating claims and resolving disputes.
• Maintain cost control systems and generate periodic commercial reports.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and project teams on commercial issues and project costs.
• Ensure thorough documentation and contract correspondence are kept throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, particularly in infrastructure or highway projects.
• Strong preference for candidates with prior involvement in Ashghal projects.
• Thorough understanding of FIDIC contracts and cost control methodologies.
• Proficiency with cost management software such as CostX and CANDY, along with advanced skills in MS Excel.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Membership in esteemed professional bodies like MRICS is advantageous.
• Registration with MMUP is required.
