Quantity Surveyor

John Sisk & Son Ltd is expanding its presence in London with new project wins spanning residential, healthcare, and commercial construction sectors. We seek skilled Quantity Surveyors experienced in any of these areas to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage commercial strategies effectively.
• Support Senior and Management Quantity Surveyors by taking accountability for preparing tenders, measuring site works, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders, and handling the commercial life cycle through to final account completion.
• Maintain accurate site records and document control systems.
• Handle site measurement logging and reporting.
• Assist in preparing financial forecasts, setting targets, and reconciling cost values.
• Compile valuations and manage variation orders with detailed documentation, negotiating agreements as works progress.
• Update and submit projected final accounts punctually.
• Collaborate with site management to commercially influence and challenge decisions where required.
• Protect John Sisk & Son's contractual and commercial rights consistently.
• Be actively involved with Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), maintain an independent perspective, and assess risks and opportunities.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of insurances and warranties relevant to projects.
• Engage in cash flow management to ensure financial health of projects.
• Support tender processes as necessary.
• Oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, reviewing and taking responsibility for their outputs.
• Maintain site documentation integrity and control.

Candidate Profile and Experience

• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in utilising various technology platforms relevant to commercial management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Standard Method of Measurement.
• Strong commercial awareness and sense of ownership.
• Excellent organisational, negotiation, interpersonal, and time management skills.

Qualifications and Professional Development

• Degree-level education and progressing toward professional accreditation.
• Familiarity with JCT contracts.
• Competence in letter and report writing.
• Negotiation expertise.
• Experience with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Completion of a 2-day safety appreciation course.
• Understanding of contract and commercial principles.
• Membership or working towards membership in CIOB.
