About the Role

We are recruiting a Quality Specialist (Assurance) with a focus on offshore compression for a major oil and gas operator based in Qatar. This contracting position requires on-site presence with a commitment of six days per week, working ten hours daily. The contract duration is 36 months with a possibility of extension. The start date is flexible, typically within one month of notice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and oversight of the Project Quality Plan ensuring contractor adherence to the Project Quality Management System and specifications for materials and equipment.
  • Oversee effective deployment of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction quality processes following approved quality standards.
  • Facilitate procurement and construction quality surveillance aligned with approved strategies.
  • Manage the Deficiency and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) process, ensuring issues are identified, recorded, investigated, and resolved thoroughly.
  • Engage in Root Cause Analysis and use structured problem solving supported by quality management tools.
  • Maintain quality reporting activities to track performance, highlight risks, and communicate trends to Quality leadership.
  • Support audit programs, maintain audit schedules, and contribute to project-specific quality training and orientation records.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and evaluate contractor performance against contractual quality requirements.
  • Assist in gate review preparations and quality report developments.
  • Coordinate lessons learned initiatives to integrate continuous improvement within contractor and company processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sciences or engineering is mandatory.
  • Additional certifications in quality management, welding, or Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) inspection are preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of quality-related experience within the oil and gas sector, including working with operators, contractors, or service providers.
  • Good understanding of industry quality standards and procedures.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills to influence and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to develop and execute Quality Management Systems tailored for the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to confidently liaise with project management teams and contractors.
  • High analytical, organizational, and planning competencies.

Working Conditions

This role demands strong self-management, proactive coordination, and cross-organizational engagement including periodic business travel. Candidates must be able to maintain focus under pressure, juggling multiple priorities without compromising critical quality standards.

The working schedule is six days per week with ten-hour shifts, based onsite in Qatar.
