About the Role
A technology-oriented organization focused on commercial infrastructure development is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee projects in The Bahamas. This role involves steering projects from initial planning phases to final completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and maintaining superior quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of construction projects spanning pre-construction to commissioning and final handover.
- Coordinate activities among contractors, consultants, engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders throughout all phases.
- Develop, update, and track project timelines, budgets, and progress reports.
- Handle procurement processes including contractor selection, bid analysis, and contract management.
- Monitor project execution, identify potential risks, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure adherence to relevant building codes, permits, environmental laws, and safety regulations.
- Supervise cost control measures, change management, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
- Conduct routine site inspections to uphold quality standards and construction best practices.
- Facilitate project closeout activities such as commissioning, punch list resolution, occupancy certifications, and final handover.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and key project stakeholders through clear reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or comparable field.
- At least seven years of hands-on experience managing construction projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, or industrial developments.
- Solid expertise in project controls, cost budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
- Experience leading contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with permitting processes, construction codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership capabilities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency in stakeholder communication and management.
- Skilled in using project management and scheduling software tools.
