About the Company and Role
Airswift is a global manpower provider specializing in the energy, infrastructure, and IT sectors, operating across over 70 countries. We are partnering with a leading Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Quality Lead (Vendor) expert in offshore compression for a significant project. This is a long-term contractual role based on-site in Qatar on a residential basis.
Position Details
- Title: Quality Lead (Vendor)
- Start Date: Negotiable, generally within one month notice period
- Contract Length: 36 months with potential extension
- Work Location: Onshore site in Qatar
- Work Schedule: Six days per week, ten hours per day
Role Purpose
The primary responsibility is to implement the QELNG project quality management program and oversee the EPC Contractor’s quality management system, focusing on procurement quality for a multi-billion offshore compression project.

- Prioritizing tasks appropriately to uphold quality, integrity, and effectiveness in procurement quality processes, systems, and procedures.
- Addressing complex issues with sound judgment based on precedent and acquired knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the Head of Quality (Compression Project).
- Executing the Project Quality Plan and supervising the Contractor’s Quality Management System and procedures to ensure materials and equipment meet project specifications.
- Implementing the Procurement Quality Surveillance Program to verify the adequacy and effectiveness of procurement activities as part of risk management.
- Managing inspection resources through QELNG approved Third Party Inspection Services and Site Inspection Services agreements.
- Monitoring inspectors' performance closely and enhancing flexibility and presence at key vendor locations where critical issues have been identified.
- Applying Deficiency and Non-Conformance Report management processes to detect, record, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies to comply with project demands.
- Managing quality reporting processes to track quality performance, communicate issues, risks, and trends to the Head of Quality.
- Engaging actively in the Project Quality Audit Program to ensure procurement activities adhere to agreed plans and policies, including audits of contractor purchasing and subcontracting.
- Performing additional quality-related assignments as directed by the Head of Quality.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering is required.
- Supplementary qualifications in quality, welding, or NDE inspection are advantageous.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in quality roles within the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 3 years in supervisory or oversight positions related to vendor or service personnel.
- Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, contractors, or service providers.
- Strong familiarity with industry standards.
Technical and Business Competencies
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence through presentations, negotiation, and facilitation.
- Experience managing development and implementation of Quality Management Systems tailored for the Oil & Gas sector.
- Confidence in engaging with project management teams and contractors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning abilities.
