Role Overview

This permanent, full-time position based in Ashburton at the RX Plastics site involves hands-on quality control within a production setting. The job spans both laboratory quality testing and active engagement with the manufacturing floor through product sampling, inspection, and quality checks. The role follows a day shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Document and maintain QC records via company systems.
• Conduct various quality control tests, inspections, and evaluations to ensure adherence to international, national, and company standards.
• Communicate test outcomes to relevant departments.
• Perform routine quality checks regularly during shifts to guarantee product consistency and compliance.
• Take product samples and inspect products throughout production processes.
• Identify and escalate quality issues working collaboratively with production teams for resolution.
• Support quality systems maintenance and contribute to audits.
• Assist with quality investigations including customer complaints and warehouse stock assessments.
• Collaborate with production and operations to uphold product quality standards.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies rigorously.
• Identify potential safety hazards proactively and partner with stakeholders to ensure a secure workplace.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, or production settings.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a related quality or production role.
• Possession of a Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
• Strong numerical aptitude for precise record keeping and familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
• Meticulous attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to resolving quality issues and driving improvements.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in team environments.
• Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
• Sound understanding of quality standards, compliance protocols, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Firm commitment to health and safety with a practical oriented, safety-first work ethic.
