Role Overview
The Quality Control Supervisor oversees the testing and post-maintenance inspection of equipment prior to green tagging or releasing to the Asset Coordinator. This leader manages daily operations of the test facility and supervises personnel, ensuring the Quality Management System—aligned with API, ISO, ASTM standards—is established and maintained effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the test and quality control teams.
- Standardize and enhance test and QC processes and capabilities.
- Ensure tracking and calibration of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment; maintain test facility apparatus.
- Conduct periodic technical audits and compliance assessments, overseeing timely closure of maintenance action plans.
- Perform vendor and supplier technical audits to verify adherence to the Quality Management System.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing asset utilization, reliability, and cost efficiency within the assigned region.
- Participate in failure investigations alongside Reliability and Maintenance teams to systematically address underlying defect causes.
- Prepare quality data documentation and Certifications of Conformity for deliverables to customers.
Experience and Qualifications
- HND or B.Sc degree in Engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Materials/Metallurgy.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience inclusive of minimum 2 years in shop operations within oilfield Completions or related oilfield sectors, including supervisory roles.
- Practical knowledge of Completions technologies, including Sand Management, Intelligent Completions, and Liner Hangers, is advantageous.
- Well-versed in Maintenance Processes, workflows, and quality control practices.
- Familiarity with tubular materials, connection threads, termination fittings, and test fixtures.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and oilfield maintenance methodologies.
- Understanding of oilfield QHSE standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement backed by relevant certifications and successful project implementations.
