Job description
Job Overview
The Borehole Geologist plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and dependable products and services to clients. This position involves collaboration with operational teams to provide expertise, recognize opportunities for continual process enhancements, and formally share insights. The role actively promotes new technological advancements and service offerings while supporting Project Leaders (PLs) in risk management and applying lessons learned to refine job design and operational execution related to geological expertise. Real-time operational support is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical assistance throughout the sales cycle and during product and service delivery.
- Support Project Leaders by assisting with the creation of technical job designs.
- Identify innovative and cost-effective geological techniques for application in projects.
- Explore and propose value-added geological products and services to enhance offerings.
- Collaborate with Design/Technical Engineers to optimize technical solutions.
- Participate in real-time incident response, recovery, and investigation within the geological domain.
- Evaluate technical feasibility and perform appraisals of tenders linked to geological services.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies within the geoscience sector.
- Enhance company visibility by actively engaging in professional societies and contributing to technical calls for papers.
- Analyze competitor technical offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
- Engage with external technical communities and societies relevant to geology.
- Contribute to the drafting, review, and publication of technical papers and reports.
- Collaborate with academic institutions, customer research organizations, and universities to foster knowledge exchange.
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience is required.
