Role Responsibilities

  • Procure all necessary food and non-food items required for daily operations
  • Stay well-informed about market trends including pricing and product availability
  • Understand and adhere to import regulations, purchasing protocols, and receiving procedures
  • Secure the highest quality goods at the most competitive prices, engaging department heads or senior management in supplier negotiations when necessary
  • Continuously compare supplier offerings based on price and quality
  • Maintain communication with procurement counterparts at other Rixos properties for knowledge sharing
  • Keep organized and up-to-date records of suppliers, pricing, quantities, and related information
  • Place orders exclusively upon receiving authorized purchase requests signed by the General Manager
  • Obtain at least three quotations for each purchase request to ensure competitive bidding
  • Consult with the Executive Chef and department heads regarding quality and quantity requirements
  • Provide product samples to the concerned departments for evaluation
  • Collaborate closely with storekeepers to ensure proper storage and adherence to FIFO inventory systems
  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor shortages, price fluctuations, and seasonal trends
  • Keep management informed about market developments affecting business operations
  • Ensure timely delivery of all required goods
  • Maintain strict ethical standards by refusing any commissions, personal benefits, or gifts from suppliers
  • Propose ideas, alternatives, and new product options in line with company policy
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and compliance with Fire, Life, Health & Safety regulations and HACCP standards relevant to materials management
