Role Overview
The Public Area Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the hotel for guests, associates, and vendors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents, and floors thoroughly using appropriate cleaning agents, reaching high and low surfaces as necessary.
- Dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves, including overhead areas through bending and stooping.
- Polish all metal surfaces diligently with repeated pressure motions for shine and cleanliness.
- Empty trash receptacles and clean ashtrays routinely.
- Comply with attendance policies and maintain regular availability.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in a hotel setting is advantageous.
- A proactive and steady disposition with the ability to start tasks independently.
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Effective communication skills with guests and colleagues.
- Physical capability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for long durations, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to understand instructions and execute responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Ability to tailor communication style based on the audience, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
