About the Role
Join the team at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla and become a pivotal part of creating exceptional guest experiences from arrival through departure. This role focuses on delivering warm hospitality, supporting operational flow, and maintaining the hotel's welcoming atmosphere.
Key Duties
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure.
- Assist with luggage handling including delivery, storage, retrieval, and transportation during guest stays.
- Escort guests to rooms, sharing information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
- Maintain awareness of lobby activity to proactively aid guests in need.
- Coordinate with departments such as Front Desk, Valet, and Housekeeping for a seamless guest experience.
- Keep the bell stand, baggage room, lobby, and entrance areas organized and clean.
- Deliver guest items and messages promptly and professionally.
- Communicate effectively between shifts utilizing logs and operational tools.
- Handle daily event postings, signage, and guest information displays as assigned.
- Support transportation operations including guest shuttles and vehicle inspections, and assist with valet as needed.
- Provide additional guest service and operational support tasks as requested by leadership.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate excellent guest service even during busy periods.
- Adhere to attendance requirements and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Preferred prior experience in hospitality, valet service, guest service, or customer service roles.
- Hotel industry experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driving skills for vans, limousines, and automobiles with an acceptable driving record.
- Capability to safely handle and move luggage and packages up to 75 lbs.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel regularly during shifts.
- Teamwork skills and ability to work closely with multiple hotel departments.
