PROS Smart CPQ Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned PROS Smart CPQ Developer with over three years of practical experience in CPQ solution deployment, encompassing configuration, customization, and integration tasks. Candidates should demonstrate robust expertise with PROS Smart CPQ, MACRO coding, Core Java programming, business rules creation, constraints management, product linking, bundle configuration, and the Quote-to-Cash cycle.

The ideal applicant will have completed at least two comprehensive PROS CPQ implementation projects and possess a thorough understanding of integrating PROS CPQ with CRM platforms like Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics, as well as other enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, tailor, and implement PROS Smart CPQ solutions reflecting business needs.
• Lead and maintain full lifecycle PROS CPQ deployments.
• Create and sustain MACRO scripts and Java-based custom enhancements.
• Configure business logic components including rules, constraints, product linking, bundles, and quote models.
• Document technical solutions thoroughly via Technical Design Documents.
• Develop data transfer modules interfacing PROS CPQ with external enterprise applications.
• Define and support integration architecture to ensure seamless data exchange.
• Collaborate with teams managing Salesforce, Dynamics, and other systems for integration efforts.
• Optimize application performance concerning scalability, responsiveness, and efficiency.
• Convert functional requirements to technical CPQ configurations effectively.
• Validate requirements from both functional and technical standpoints.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects and functional issues expediently.
• Assist with production support, including enhancement requests and changes.
• Engage cross-functionally with business analysts, consultants, integration experts, and other IT stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum three years of CPQ development experience, specifically with PROS Smart CPQ.
• Completion of at least two full PROS CPQ project implementations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PROS Smart CPQ ecosystem components.
• Proficiency in MACRO coding and Core Java development.
• Expertise in developing business rules and managing constraints in CPQ systems.
• Experience with product linking, bundling, and product/quote modeling.
• In-depth understanding of the Quote-to-Cash process.
• Capability in CPQ customization, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance.
• Skills in data integration between PROS CPQ and external solutions.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud platforms.
• Preferred experience integrating PROS CPQ with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Additional Desirable Skills

• Certification in PROS CPQ modules such as PPSS Smart CPQ, PROS PPSS, Quoting 203, Quoting 310, and Quoting 320.
• Exposure to alternative CPQ platforms and enterprise-wide integration initiatives.
• Understanding of CRM and ERP integration design patterns.
• Strong documentation abilities and effective communication skills.

Educational Background

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
