Role Overview

We are seeking Project Surveyors specializing in Measurement to join the Cost Management team at our Dubai South office. The role involves delivering quantity surveying and cost management services from pre-contract through post-contract phases, focusing on measurement, estimating, cost planning, and creating Bills of Quantities (BoQs), while assisting senior team members in various cost management activities.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for surveyors with strong measurement and estimating experience to advance their careers within an international consultancy and be involved in significant projects in the UAE and surrounding areas. Prior experience in the UAE is not mandatory; applicants from abroad with the relevant background who are open to relocating are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise measurements and quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, BIM models, and project documentation.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, schedules, and related measurement documents.
• Measure architectural, structural, civil, and MEP components as project demands.
• Examine drawings and specifications to detect scope details, discrepancies, omissions, or modifications affecting quantities or costs.
• Maintain organized and auditable records supporting cost plans, estimates, and BoQs.
• Review measurements prepared by peers to ensure accuracy.
• Apply established measurement standards and project-specific guidelines consistently.
• Assist in developing feasibility studies, order-of-cost analyses, and detailed cost estimates.
• Update cost plans during design evolution.
• Analyze tender submissions and past project data to help build reliable cost rate databases.
• Identify cost trends and variances and report to senior team members.
• Support tender documentation preparation and review, including identifying pricing irregularities.
• Contribute to post-contract measurement tasks such as valuations and change assessments.
• Aid in cost control and reporting throughout project execution.
• Utilize relevant cost management software and digital tools including BIM for quantity extraction and validation.
• Improve measurement workflows and digital processes within the Cost Management team.
• Collaborate effectively with senior surveyors and team members, taking responsibility for assigned work and meeting deadlines.
• Commit to continuous professional growth and progressively assume greater responsibilities.
• Engage professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Alternatively, possession of a Higher National Diploma, Higher Diploma, or an equivalent credential.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience in quantity surveying or measurement fields.

Although prior UAE experience is not essential, candidates with appropriate expertise interested in relocation are encouraged. All new hires must attend an in-person onboarding session at an AECOM office as part of the employment process.
