Project Risk Manager

About the Role

Hatch, collaborating with Ma’aden, is spearheading significant mining and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. We seek a Project Risk Manager to lead risk-related activities throughout project planning and execution phases. This role requires ensuring solid governance, fostering stakeholder engagement, and aligning with project scope, budget, schedule, and safety considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and uphold the project risk management framework.
• Organize and conduct risk assessments, analyses, and reviews pertinent to project risks.
• Maintain ongoing communication and close coordination with project leadership and other stakeholders.
• Integrate identified risks into the Project Risk Register, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Create project risk reports and dashboards to track and communicate risk status.
• Collaborate with risk owners and Project Controls to embed risk mitigation measures into budgets and schedules, ensuring timely execution.
• Deliver risk management training to team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Support the leadership team in cultivating and sustaining a risk-aware project culture.
• Drive continuous enhancements in risk management processes by applying lessons learned.
• Plan and facilitate integrated schedule and cost quantitative risk analyses (including contingency evaluations).
• Conduct hazard studies such as HAZOP and safety studies related to construction and commissioning.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A post-secondary degree in engineering or business from an accredited university paired with a professional risk or project management certification.
• At least 10 years of experience managing risk on large-scale or mega projects, preferably within the mining sector.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops involving large participant groups.
• Mandatory experience in metals mining projects.
• Proficient knowledge of international risk management standards and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 31000, AACE International, CII, PMI).
• Comprehensive understanding of adapting risk management processes to suit project requirements.
• Familiarity with risk management software tools such as Safran, @Risk, Active Risk Manager, Omega 360, or equivalents.
• Strong grasp of project management workflows, execution strategies, cost estimation, scheduling techniques, decision analysis, and scenario planning.
• Adept at advising project stakeholders on managing specific risks effectively.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and meet project deadlines, including completing unplanned risk management tasks under tight time constraints.

Work Location: Riyadh, Servcorp, Business Gate, Saudi Arabia.

Working Days and Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
