Overview

GE Grid Solutions is a leading provider of advanced products and solutions within the energy sector. As part of an HVDC offshore project, the Project Risk Manager will oversee comprehensive risk management activities internally and externally, becoming the key contact for all risk-related matters involving the project team, clients, partners, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate risk management processes including risk identification, assessment, and proactive handling of both threats and opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date risk data aligned with industry best practices based on ISO 31000:2018 standards.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness across the project teams by actively involving members in risk management efforts.
  • Develop and keep current the Risk Management Plan; maintain risk registers; and prepare comprehensive reports and analyses to facilitate informed decisions by management.
  • Improve efficiency by automating parts of risk processes, tools, and templates.
  • Conduct risk workshops engaging project teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Incorporate Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) for cost and schedule, aiding management in interpreting results and making decisions.
  • Ensure consistent risk management approaches and knowledge sharing across projects.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience working on large, complex engineering projects such as infrastructure, rail, highways, oil & gas, or nuclear sectors.
  • Background in consultancy or similar advisory roles is advantageous.
  • Expertise in Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (QCSRA).
  • Proficiency with industry tools like @risk, Safran, ARM, and Xactium.
  • Academic or practical knowledge in project management, statistics, economics, business management, engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical), or data analytics.
  • An aptitude for deep analytical problem-solving regarding complex issues.
  • Certifications on par with PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) are preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, to support analytic tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel roughly 30% domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in English, with German language skills considered a plus.
