Lead Manufacturing Specialist

Job Overview

We are looking for a driven and technically skilled Lead Manufacturing Engineer who will be instrumental in the manufacturing and repair activities for Gas Turbine Blades. This role involves owning diverse projects focused on technical excellence, encompassing New Product Introduction (NPI), process enhancements, and leadership across functions. The ideal candidate excels in tackling complex production issues and championing continuous improvements in precise manufacturing contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, documenting, and refining manufacturing and repair procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Leading NPI efforts, targeting reductions in lead times, cycle durations, and overall Cost of Quality (COQ).
• Providing technical guidance by designing tooling and fixtures, setting repair standards, and creating detailed work instructions for production lines.
• Managing projects from concept through completion, overseeing budgets, scheduling, and resource distribution including defining investment and expenses necessary for projects.
• Addressing technical Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) collaboratively to maintain compliance and ensure accurate recording of designs and technical documentation.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives by applying LEAN principles and Six Sigma tools to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Serving as a key technical liaison between manufacturing, sales, marketing, and external partners while ensuring all processes align with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
• Conducting training sessions and mentoring staff to introduce new practices and propagate global best standards within the department.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 4 years of experience in technical, operational, or production roles.
• Proficiency in English for both verbal and written communication is essential.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; holding a Green Belt certification or higher is preferred.
• Proven track record in enhancing safety and quality in manufacturing settings.
• Self-motivated with a capacity for innovation and process improvement.
• Strong analytical skills with effective root-cause problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously under rigorous deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills geared towards influencing and collaborating across teams.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
• GE employees are preferred to have completed Corporate Manufacturing/Operations/Engineering Training Programs.
