Role Overview

We are looking to recruit skilled Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic project team in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects for top-tier clients within a challenging and rewarding environment. The Quantity Surveyor reports to the Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor and is responsible for all quantity surveying tasks to ensure compliance with commercial and contractual obligations while optimizing project value.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily commercial and contractual activities across assigned projects.
• Manage contract administration, including overseeing change management processes and maintaining required documentation such as Change Order Logs.
• Negotiate and secure optimal terms and pricing when placing subcontract orders.
• Contribute to managing project budgets, cost planning, and feasibility assessments when necessary.
• Review and approve subcontractor interim applications and final submissions, ensuring compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
• Lead pre-appointment meetings with subcontractors to clarify scope and execute appointments following FMC subcontract conditions and any required flow-downs from main contracts to mitigate risk.
• Create precise monthly Cost Value Reports for discussion with Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Contract Managers, and Project Directors.
• Enhance cash flow by submitting timely and accurate Monthly Valuations supported by full contract documentation.
• Negotiate, develop, and submit Final Accounts including claims related to loss and expense, delays, disruptions, and extensions of time.
• Maintain productive collaborations with design team members and client representatives throughout projects.
• Ensure complete implementation of Team Commercial procedures when delegated authority is granted.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or a comparable qualification recognized by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and/or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
• Possesses 3 to 5 years of professional experience in quantity surveying.
• Demonstrates familiarity with various construction contract forms including NEC, RIAI, and FIDIC.
• Capable of critically assessing documentation to identify gaps and commercial opportunities in contracts, drawings, specifications, and Cost Value Reports.
• Has comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, processes, and systems.
• Exhibits strong commercial awareness, understanding market forces, competition, and value optimization.
• Strong numerical aptitude and proficient report-writing abilities.
• Expert negotiation and conflict resolution skills paired with a results-driven, process-oriented mindset.
• Detail-focused and highly organized in task execution.
