Job Overview

We seek an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily shop floor operations, ensuring that production proceeds on schedule with quality and safety as priorities. The supervisor will coordinate resources, manage manpower, track production progress, and maintain high operating standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide daily production activities aligned to the sanctioned production plan.
• Delegate tasks among operators, technicians, fabricators, and helpers according to production requirements.
• Ensure attainment of production targets within allotted timelines.
• Liaise with Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Projects, and Maintenance teams to facilitate smooth production operations.
• Understand and apply engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and production documents.
• Monitor fabrication, machining, and assembly processes effectively.
• Confirm availability of raw materials, components, tools, consumables, and workforce as needed.
• Coordinate timely resolution of material shortages and procurement follow-ups with relevant departments.
• Track work progress and promptly report delays, technical issues, or equipment breakdowns to the Production Manager.
• Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, tools, and other resources.
• Conduct frequent inspections of shop-floor to maintain order, cleanliness, and discipline.
• Enforce compliance with prescribed quality standards and specifications.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective measures collaboratively.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, including daily reports and job cards.
• Ensure all production activities strictly follow safety protocols and company procedures.
• Supervise use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promote safe working habits.
• Provide guidance, training, and supervision to production staff as needed.
• Maintain discipline and adherence to company policies and work schedules.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives such as productivity enhancements, waste minimization, and 5S/Kaizen activities.
• Support dispatch readiness by ensuring finalized machines and components are inspection- and shipment-ready.
• Fulfill any other production-related tasks assigned by Management.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of production processes and shop floor management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Experience with fabrication and mechanical assembly.
• Effective manpower management and team leadership capabilities.
• Skillful in planning and prioritizing daily production operations.
• Analytical problem-solving and sound decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Basic proficiency in computers, particularly in MS Excel and production reporting tools.
• Capability to handle production pressures and multitask effectively under deadlines.

Educational Requirements

Candidates should hold a Diploma, ITI, or B.Tech degree in Mechanical, Production, or related technical disciplines.

Experience Criteria

Applicants must have between 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, machinery production, industrial equipment, or allied fields. Preference will be given to those with expertise in industrial machinery manufacturing, ultrasonic equipment production, fabrication, machine assembly, or project-driven manufacturing environments.

Working Conditions

• Predominantly factory or shop-floor based role.
• May involve extended working hours during peak production or project deadlines.
• Requires close teamwork with production, engineering, quality assurance, stores, purchasing, and project departments.

Compensation

Salary will be determined based on experience and company standards, typically ranging from 20,000 to 35,000 INR monthly.
