Production Scheduler

About the Role

Join Danone's advanced production facility in Auckland as a Production Scheduler within our energetic Supply Chain team. This full-time permanent role involves working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, totaling 40 hours weekly. Reporting to the Auckland Planning Manager, the position ensures efficient production line operations by creating and managing short-term schedules, coordinating material availability, handling production orders, and collaborating cross-functionally to satisfy customer demand while optimizing inventory and plant capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and update short-term production schedules ranging from zero to four weeks to align with customer orders and production capacity.
• Lead weekly production planning meetings to convey updates on schedules, risks, and priorities.
• Administer production orders in SAP, including creation and closure.
• Observe production capacity and propose improvements to optimize line usage.
• Work closely with Materials Planning to ensure timely raw and packaging material availability.
• Oversee packaging purchase orders and inventory to maintain continuous production flow.
• Verify batch allocations and recipe validations prior to production runs.
• Maintain precise production-related master data.
• Manage product rework requirements and communicate their impact to relevant parties.
• Support daily production meetings by reporting upcoming plans and potential challenges.
• Initiate continuous improvements in planning procedures and cross-functional communication.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate holds a tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Science, or a similar field with a background or interest in laboratory environments. A continuous improvement mindset and proactive team support initiative are essential.

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related disciplines.
• At least 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, or Scheduling, ideally within FMCG, food manufacturing, or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, particularly SAP.
• Strong analytical capabilities coupled with problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High precision and attention to detail.
• Capable of working independently and collaborating effectively across teams.
• Robust planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
