Job description

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform empowering millions of companies worldwide—from major enterprises to promising startups—to manage payments, expand revenue streams, and accelerate business opportunities. Our mission prioritizes increasing the global GDP of the internet, creating significant impact across economies.

About the Role and Team

As a Sales Development Representative within Stripe's Product Greater China team, you'll engage with diverse and innovative enterprises across the region. Your core focus is collaborating with Demand Generation and Account Executive teams to qualify leads and develop a productive sales pipeline. This involves initiating early-stage sales conversations, identifying client needs, and highlighting our product's value in complex settings.

You will also contribute to process improvements by refining demand generation and sales workflows, enhancing how Stripe's value is communicated, and creating useful sales tools and assets. A proactive, curious, persistent mindset combined with strong teamwork skills will make you a successful candidate.

Initially, you'll join the Sales Development Associate program designed to accelerate your onboarding, enabling you to rapidly acquire necessary skills. Following this, further development is offered via Stripe's Sales Development Academy, endorsed by leadership as a key investment in employee growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop outreach content targeted at valuable prospective clients in collaboration with Sales Development Representatives and Account Executives.
  • Engage and qualify leads generated by Marketing to identify viable sales opportunities, facilitating their progression through the sales funnel.
  • Implement outbound sales strategies planned by Marketing teams.
  • Initiate contact with potential customers, either through cold calls or responding to marketing inquiries.
  • Build rapport with prospects, using effective questioning to understand needs, assess interest, and prepare smooth handoffs to sales.
  • Follow up on interested prospects who initially did not convert into sales opportunities.
  • Manage lead lists diligently, consistently exceeding service-level agreements, updating all contact and activity data in the CRM, and assisting with weekly sales reporting.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to offer feedback, optimizing targeting and messaging strategies.
  • Prospect across enterprises of various sizes throughout the Greater China region through multiple outreach tools and methods.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record of high achievement or prior success in relevant roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated professional capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English is essential due to focus on Greater China markets.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Singapore for three days each week.

Work Environment and Expectations

Employees assigned to office locations, such as Singapore, are expected to spend at least 50% of each month working onsite or with users. While this may vary by team and role, this blend supports collaboration and hands-on interaction, balanced with flexibility.

Compensation and Benefits

The target annual earnings for this position in Singapore range from SGD 84,000 to SGD 126,000. This figure combines base salary with commissions and bonuses and may adjust based on location, candidate experience, and level. Additional benefits can include equity, company bonuses, retirement plans, health coverage, and wellness stipends. Specific terms will be discussed during the interview process.

Inclusivity Statement

Stripe values individuals with passion, tenacity, and integrity. Candidates whose experience may not perfectly align with the job description are still encouraged to apply. Diverse perspectives and critical thinking are embraced, contributing to a dynamic and innovative workforce.
