Job description

Main Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, parts, supplies, and equipment efficiently, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and interview suppliers to verify product availability and sales terms.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to optimize costs.
  • Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Monitor and report on outstanding payments, following up to resolve pending issues.
  • Analyze and report departmental KPIs, investigating causes of any deviations from targets.
  • Oversee audit action plans, ensuring all open items are closed promptly, and coordinate professionally with auditors.
  • Develop favorable payment terms with suppliers to minimize cash purchases.
  • Update the pricing matrix monthly for accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date supplier records.
  • Prepare and archive supplier evaluation reports systematically.
  • Identify risks relating to potential price increases or material shortages due to supplier problems.
  • Execute procurement strategies and policies consistently.
  • Ensure all purchase orders conform to company policies.
  • Maintain a minimum of three suppliers for each item critical to customer supply.
  • Address and resolve issues regarding product quality, delivery, or service discrepancies.
  • Conduct annual supplier evaluations to assess performance.
  • Report cost-saving initiatives while actively seeking new saving opportunities.
  • Keep detailed records of all purchase orders and regularly update order management systems.
  • Implement effective tracking systems to ensure timely delivery of goods and services orders.
  • Manage and resolve concerns or claims from vendors or contractors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Bring 5 to 8 years of procurement experience, including both local and international purchasing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working within Saudi Arabia.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably in packaging or related industries.

  • Analyze historical procurement data and forecasts to drive cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Contribute to developing equipment, product, or alternative material specifications.
  • Identify and promote training opportunities for team development.
