Job description
Job Location and Employment Type
This position is based in Abuja, Lagos, and Rivers State, Nigeria, requiring full-time onsite presence.
Role Responsibilities
- Creating Requests for Quotations (RFQs), selecting OEMs, suppliers, and vendors, managing tenders and bids, preparing Purchase Orders, and negotiating contracts for services such as freight and clearing.
- Generating comprehensive reports on RFQs and purchases, including pre-bid evaluations, price comparisons, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Overseeing the end-to-end process of assigned RFQs, bids, and tenders from receipt to submission.
- Engaging in sourcing activities to accurately identify client requirements and secure competitive pricing from qualified manufacturers and reliable suppliers.
- Conducting negotiations with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable quotes.
- Identifying and sourcing the most effective and economical freight options for items within RFQs or Purchase Orders.
- Issuing and following up on Purchase Orders.
- Monitoring and accelerating Purchase Orders directed to manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with bid and purchase order terms and conditions.
- Tracking and managing delivery schedules of imported goods in coordination with freight forwarders and clearing agents.
- Coordinating payment tracking activities with the accounts department.
- Supporting the Admin/Logistics team in receiving and delivering goods to clients.
- Performing additional procurement and expediting duties as delegated.
- Assisting leadership in achieving unit targets.
Job Requirements
- Possession of an HND, BSc, or higher degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in industries such as Construction, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Telecommunications is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes including sourcing, bidding, purchase order administration, and expediting.
- Familiarity with logistics procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient analytical capabilities, especially in preparing price and cost-benefit analyses.
- Effective problem-solving skills to handle specification, technical, and commercial challenges and devise strategic solutions.
- Commercial awareness and market intelligence specific to Electrical and Instrumentation (E & I) products and services is a plus.
- Knowledge of E & I product lines enhances candidacy but is not mandatory.
- Strong sourcing expertise for both local and international goods and services.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly those used in Oil & Gas sectors, such as SAP Ariba and GEP.
- Skill in contract management and data/information handling.
- Excellent negotiation and consultative sales competence.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Collaborative teamwork skills along with notable organizational and leadership qualities.
