Job description
Overview
This role requires a seasoned professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or a related field, bringing 8 to 12+ years of extensive procurement and sourcing expertise specifically for Electrical and Instrumentation systems within EPC or Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical equipment, instrumentation packages, control systems, and the intricacies of related procurement workflows.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements.
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and comprehensive bid documentation.
- Identify, qualify, and prequalify potential suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct thorough technical and commercial evaluations of bids.
- Lead commercial negotiations and prepare bid tabulations with award recommendations.
- Review engineering deliverables and material requisitions to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Manage the expediting process for engineering documents and material deliveries.
- Coordinate inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) where applicable.
- Oversee logistics and delivery schedules ensuring adherence to project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Planning, Commercial, and Finance departments.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively resolve procurement-related issues.
- Ensure procurement processes fully comply with commercial terms, Incoterms, subcontracting guidelines, and project procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 8 to 12+ years of proven procurement and sourcing experience in Electrical & Instrumentation systems within EPC or Oil & Gas sectors.
- Strong familiarity with electrical and instrumentation products and procurement operations.
- Expertise in procurement process management including vendor prequalification, bid evaluations, negotiations, expediting, logistics, and contract administration.
