Draftsman

Overview

The Draftsman plays a critical role in creating precise, coordinated construction-ready drawings, schematics, and documentation specifically for Digital EPC projects. This position closely supports engineering and project delivery teams by translating validated design inputs, technical calculations, vendor data, and site conditions into detailed controlled drawings that meet project, client, and drafting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings including plans, sections, elevations, details, schematics, single-line and riser diagrams, and installation layouts based on authorized inputs and standards.
• Develop detailed drawings for ICT, telecommunications, structured cabling, ELV, security, audio-visual, smart systems, and related infrastructure elements.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialist systems to detect and resolve technical or spatial conflicts.
• Support BIM and model-driven documentation by creating, updating, and extracting coordinated project data aligned with BIM execution plans and detail levels.
• Accurately integrate design revisions, comments, vendor data, and site instructions while tracking all changes systematically.
• Prepare and maintain coordinated shop drawings, builder-work layouts, equipment placements, containment paths, and site installation details to assist execution.
• Update and maintain as-built documentation by verifying site markups and inspection data throughout the project timeline.
• Maintain drawing standards by applying approved templates, symbols, layers, line weights, scales, naming conventions, and performing thorough self-reviews before submissions.
• Organize drawing registers, files, and transmittals ensuring timely delivery through the official document control system.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, vendors, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and offer drawing support for procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.

Experience Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in digital engineering drafting.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience with CAD and BIM tools used industry-wide.
• A minimum of 3 years providing drafting support to EPC design and construction projects.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in technical drafting and detailing methods.
• Strong understanding of ICT, ELV and digital infrastructure concepts.
• Competence in multi-disciplinary coordination and clash detection.
• Expertise in drawing quality control and revision management.
• Effective communication and disciplined project delivery approach.

Education and Certifications

• Diploma or associate degree in Engineering Drafting, CAD, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Architecture, or similar fields.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Design, or related domain is advantageous.
• Preferred certifications include AutoCAD or recognized CAD drafting qualifications.
• Additional training in Revit, BIM, telecommunications, structured cabling, ELV, or data center drafting is beneficial.
• Training in document control, drawing standards, health, safety, environment, or quality management is a plus.
