Role Overview

We seek a Principal STA Engineer to act as the technical lead for signoff timing closure within the Physical Design domain. This position demands in-depth STA expertise, proactive hands-on involvement, and the capacity to spearhead early-stage signoff strategies. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional groups focusing on constraints, optimization, and timing analysis to guarantee reliable, top-tier SoC completion.

Primary Duties

• Oversee SoC-level signoff STA activities, including timing ECO execution and gate-level simulation facilitation.
• Implement resilient co-optimization methods to reach competitive power, performance, area, and scaling targets.
• Create and update dashboards to track PPAS and status metrics leveraging scripting automation.
• Work in partnership with RTL design, verification, physical design, and test teams to maintain design convergence and uniform signoff.
• Manage timing margins effectively with minimal guidance.
• Examine design data and related materials to suggest improvements based on evidence.
• Use reuse strategies for IP, libraries, and flows to expedite processes.
• Automate and refine STA flows through TCL, Python, or Perl scripting to boost efficiency and consistency.

Additional Responsibilities

Execute all tasks responsibly and adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 12 years of direct experience in STA with expertise in early-stage signoff approaches.
• Proficiency in creating and enhancing tools and methods from scratch.
• Experience with SoC level MCMM STA, physically aware ECO creation, and gate-level simulation support.
• Knowledge of modern process nodes, DFT timing schemes, and IP integration.
• Strong scripting capabilities utilizing TCL, Python, or Perl for automation and troubleshooting.
• Analytical excellence paired with effective communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
