Principal AI Developer Technology Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Developer Technology Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligence to conduct research and development of parallel algorithms focused on accelerating AI workloads on cutting-edge computer architectures. This position involves identifying and resolving system bottlenecks to maximize performance on advanced hardware platforms, primarily GPUs and CPUs.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop GPU acceleration techniques for workloads related to deep learning, machine learning, or other AI fields.
• Collaborate with domain experts from industry and academia to analyze and optimize complex AI and HPC algorithms for enhanced performance on modern CPU and GPU architectures.
• Disseminate optimization methods through developer blogs and industry conferences to educate and engage the developer community.
• Contribute insights to inform the design of future hardware architectures, software, and programming models by working with research, hardware, system software, libraries, and tools teams within NVIDIA.

Required Qualifications

• A graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related computational science discipline, or equivalent experience.
• More than 15 years of professional experience in software development or research roles.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages, with solid understanding of algorithms and software creation.
• Experience in parallel programming using technologies such as CUDA, OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, or pthreads.
• Hands-on expertise in low-level performance tuning and optimization.
• Deep knowledge of CPU and GPU architectural principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, logical problem-solving skills, effective time management, and prioritization capabilities.

Preferred Skills

• Specialization in parallelization and optimizing the performance of deep learning models related to Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Recommender Systems.
• Advanced understanding of linear algebra principles.
