Collaborating closely with leadership in product, engineering, and delivery functions, you will ensure your team receives the necessary support and that your practice consistently achieves high-quality outcomes.

Position Specifics

Coach on aspects such as product visions, roadmaps, prioritization, and value measurement. Emphasize delivering business outcomes through reliable, resilient, and well-managed technical products and platforms.

Foster professional growth and embed consistent approaches to infrastructure design, documentation, and quality. Direct improvements across core infrastructure, cloud, networking, application packaging, deployment, IoT, and automation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and mentorship with clear developmental plans, career pathways, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Define and implement strategic direction for your specialist practice to align with Technology Services objectives.
  • Establish, embed, and uphold professional standards, methodologies, and quality benchmarks within your discipline.
  • Identify capability gaps and lead targeted initiatives such as training, recruiting, knowledge sharing, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with delivery leadership to allocate resources effectively, balancing organizational priorities with individual growth.
  • Promote a collaborative community where experts share knowledge, learn collectively, and continuously refine processes.
  • Support staff confidence and competency in te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, te ao Māori, and the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates will combine strong people management skills with specialist expertise in their technical fields. They will excel at building trust, giving constructive feedback, facilitating career development, and setting work quality expectations.

Proven experience in developing individuals and enhancing practice standards and methodologies is essential.

  • A minimum of five years in people leadership roles, capable of managing large teams.
  • At least ten years of relevant domain expertise with demonstrated technical or professional leadership.
