About the Opportunity
Auckland Council’s Technology Services is looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead the Connectivity team as part of modernising the technology environment. This role holds responsibility for critical network and security connectivity services.
The successful candidate will guide product strategy, maintain a prioritized roadmap and backlog to ensure the network remains secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with purpose. Balancing lifecycle management, remediation efforts, emerging technologies, technical debt, operational efficiency, and user demand will be key.
Collaboration with architects, engineers, operations teams, service owners, and vendors is essential to define standards and clear pathways for effective consumption and development of connectivity services.
About You
You bring solid product ownership skills coupled with technical expertise in network and security connectivity. Comfortable navigating complex technical ecosystems and engaging with diverse stakeholders, you excel in prioritizing investments around new initiatives, lifecycle, security, resilience, and improvements.
Your background ideally includes experience with product roadmaps and backlog prioritization, leading technical teams, enterprise connectivity technologies like LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN, remote access, and cloud connectivity, as well as technology lifecycle, resilience, security, operational health monitoring, and supportability.
You are adept at communicating complex technical requirements, risks, and trade-offs clearly to facilitate decision-making and empower your teams with the right standards, documentation, and support structures.
