Pilbara Ports is the world's largest bulk export port authority, overseeing the operations at Ashburton, Dampier, Port Hedland, Varanus Island, and five future port developments.

The Role

Reporting to the Program Management Lead, the PMO Specialist will operate within a collaborative PMO team environment, cooperating closely with Project Managers and key business stakeholders. The primary focus is to enhance project management capabilities, governance, and practices throughout the organisation.

Key Duties

• Continuously develop, maintain, and refine PMO frameworks, processes, and standards.
• Create and update guidelines, templates, and essential project documentation.
• Set up and oversee efficient document control systems.
• Deliver training, guidance, and coaching on PMO methods and procedures.
• Spot opportunities for enhancing project management tools, methodologies, and practices.
• Offer practical support and advice to Project Managers.
• Assist with governance, reporting, and oversight for projects, programs, and portfolios.
• Facilitate implementation and integration of new processes and work approaches.
• Translate project data into clear, insightful reporting.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to bolster project management skills and capabilities organization-wide.
• Effectively juggle multiple priorities ensuring completion and follow-up on assigned tasks.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has between 3 to 5 years of experience within a PMO or project-focused role and possesses a comprehensive understanding of full lifecycle project management.

• Hands-on experience in PMO, project governance, or project management roles.
• Sound knowledge of project delivery methodologies, governance structures, and reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to create or improve processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates.
• Exceptional written communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience in providing training, mentoring, or coaching project teams.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to manage competing demands and consistently meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder relationship management.
• Comfortable working amidst ambiguity with adaptability to shifting priorities.

Essential Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Project Management or a related field.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a Police Clearance.
• Eligibility to acquire a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
