Plumber Technician

Position Overview

The Plumber Technician role involves maintaining and repairing buildings, grounds, and their associated facilities. This includes the installation, repair, rebuilding, and upkeep of diverse mechanical equipment and engines across domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural settings, ensuring they operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and service pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water supply, and drainage systems in adherence to specifications and plumbing regulations.
• Review building blueprints and working diagrams to identify required tools and sequence of plumbing installations.
• Inspect structures to locate potential obstacles, preventing structural weakening during pipe installation; mark pipe routes and connection points on walls and floors.
• Create openings in walls and floors for pipe and fitting placement using hand and power tools; cut, thread, and bend pipes to specified dimensions using appropriate machinery and techniques.
• Install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, lead, and nonmetals including glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
• Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and seal joints with caulk; test pipe systems by filling with water or air and monitoring pressure gauges to detect leaks.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures like sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and water softeners.
• Perform plumbing maintenance tasks like replacing washers in leaking faucets, repairing burst pipes, unclogging drains; occasionally weld fixtures to steel structures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a Master or Journeyman plumbing license, or equivalent practical plumbing experience.
• Minimum of three years' specialized experience in plumbing that includes backflow inspection, testing, and maintenance of backflow prevention devices and systems.

Additional Requirements

• Valid United States Driver's License required.
• Holding a valid US Passport is preferred.
• Ability to comply with all existing USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements as described in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN.
• Capability to secure and maintain a Residency Visa for Qatar.
• Willingness to work under extreme environmental conditions, including dust and high temperatures.
• Ability to withstand long working hours and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
• 100% travel expected within deployed locations.
• Must have and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
