Plant Operator – Gundagai

Job Overview

We invite applications for a permanent, full-time Plant Operator position located at the Gundagai Depot, with occasional duties at the Cootamundra Depot as required. The successful candidate will operate various types of plant machinery and contribute to the manual labor workforce within the Civil Works Department under the direction of the Works Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment efficiently and effectively to support Council’s objectives, including operating the patching truck when required.
• Perform daily maintenance on all plant machinery according to manufacturer guidelines, including upkeep of the patching truck.
• Ensure safe operation and loading of plant machinery by adhering to safe work method statements and manufacturer instructions, with responsibility for patching truck operations as well.
• Load plant items correctly within weight and safety limits and comply with road regulations during transport.
• Complete all electronic and paper documentation related to operations as required or directed.

Benefits and Working Conditions

• Weekly salary between $1,147.00 and $1,342.11 gross.
• Council provides a 12% superannuation guarantee contribution.
• Work schedule includes a 9-day fortnight arrangement.
